My Weight Loss Experience

As a child, I was not overweight. I was pretty active in school. I was a cheerleader. I ran a marathon. I liked almost all kinds of outdoor activities.

Honestly, I don’t know what happened after that, but when I hit about 20 my weight started to climb. Pizza, beer, bars, friends…But I didn’t notice or care because I was having fun.

So, at age 25 I was not in the good shape I weighed 180 pounds. I felt in and out of working out, losing weight, stress eating (my bad habit), you name it I tried anything to make me lose weight.

I’ve come to a point in my life that I am not satisfied with my body. I didn’t feel beautiful, there were so many insecurities (any woman knows) and I wished all the time to be fitted, pretty and healthy. But I was so unhappy. My insecurities have started to creep up and ruin all my relationship.

I couldn’t meet a new boyfriend. It’s becoming hard to date when you are fat. I was frustrated, angry and upset. And I ate again and again.

I wanted to change my life and appearance and became a gym junkie always working out and felt good about myself. I seriously lost a few pounds I felt so good. And… I stopped. Became a stress eater for food again. Food was my comfort I felt that food made me happy. It did but I did realize the aftermath and health issues I can have. I had an asthma attack. My blood sugar test was very high. I got digestive disorders. I recognized my weight is affecting my physical health.

When I hit 27, I decided to ask for a professional help. I choose Dr. Alexander Katz in Peabody MA. He treated the underlying causes of my weight gain and helped me to facilitate successful weight loss, to reshape my lifestyle by adopting healthy new habits and breaking unhealthy old ones.

He did comprehensive metabolic testing and medical diagnostics to monitor my physiological shifts during the course of a program. Doctor Alexander created a weight loss program for me that included diet, fitness, boosting metabolism, healthy behaviors.

Today I weigh 109 pounds. Seriously losing 70 pounds has been maybe the best thing that's ever happened to me! It absolutely changed my life. I’m healthy and happy. I engaged a month ago. I even found my dream job. I feel like a new person. I feel like I’m back in high school.

I am forever grateful for the care, amazing support and experience I received thru Century Medicals weight loss program.
